Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.2, titled “So Laughed the Masses,” launches on April 22 for PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android. Developer miHoYo announced the update with new story content, new 5-star characters, the Path of Elation for the Trailblazer, and third anniversary events.

Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.2 brings So Laughed the Masses on April 22


Version 4.2 continues the Planarcadia storyline as the Phantasmoon Games become more intense. The update raises the stakes around the competition, with the Trailblazer facing new pressure as the ultimate reward becomes tied to the Aeon of Elation.


The update introduces Silver Wolf LV.999 and Evanescia as new 5-star characters, while the Trailblazer gains access to the Path of Elation. It also includes anniversary rewards, returning events, character reruns, store additions, gameplay updates, and celebration activities for the game’s third anniversary.

Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.2 launches on April 22 for PlayStation 5, PC via client download and Epic Games Store, iOS, and Android. The update arrives with third anniversary rewards, including the return of Festive Gifts, anniversary bonuses, special events, and a first-time top-up double bonus reset.


The story focuses on the heightened stakes of the Phantasmoon Games, while Silver Wolf LV.999 and Evanescia join as new 5-star Elation characters. The Elation Trailblazer also joins the update with a glow stick-based combat style, alongside reruns, buffs for selected characters, Currency Wars expansion content, and additional anniversary activities.
