Captain Tsubasa II: World Fighters | Launches August 28

Captain Tsubasa II: World Fighters will launch on August 27, 2026 in Japan and August 28 worldwide for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer Tamsoft confirmed the release date alongside digital pre-orders and a new story trailer.

Captain Tsubasa II: World Fighters launches August 28 worldwide


Captain Tsubasa II: World Fighters brings the anime soccer series back with a new action-focused entry based on the World Youth arc. The game follows Tsubasa Ozora and his team as they move from continental rivalry toward the world stage, facing powerful national teams in dramatic matches.


The title features 22 national teams, more than 110 playable characters, and over 150 cutscenes that highlight special moves and key moments on the pitch. The story scenario is supervised by original creator Yoichi Takahashi, with new routes and rival nation stories expanding the Captain Tsubasa experience.

The official story trailer shows Tsubasa’s journey through the qualifying stage and toward the World Youth Championship, introducing rival teams and the game’s dramatic anime soccer style.

What’s New in Captain Tsubasa II: World Fighters


Captain Tsubasa II: World Fighters enhances the series’ super action soccer gameplay with new super moves, more tactical goalkeeper-versus-shooter situations, and dramatic plays based on characters from the original series.


Digital pre-orders are available in Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate editions. Pre-order bonuses include the 2026 Japan National Team and World Youth jersey set, early access to the Brazil Youth team, and early background music access for “Moete Hero -WORLD FIGHTERS Ver.-” and “Moete Hero -Youth Ver.-”.


The game is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, with the Japanese release set one day earlier than the worldwide launch.
